MPA in Terrorism, Mediation, & Peace

To many it might seem like the idea of terrorism is a new thing, only becoming truly prominent in the United States in recent decades. But in reality, terrorism – and the subsequent need for successful mediation and peace-keeping efforts – has been present for much, much longer. Public administration entities – including local, regional, state and national governments – often include mediation and peace-keeping efforts as part of their operational goals, seeking to forever ensure the physical, emotional and mental welfare of their citizens.

A typical MPA in Terrorism, Mediation, & Peace degree is aimed at the simple notion of keeping America and its people – not to mention its numerous small communities – safe from terrorist activity. Students in such a program will be able to explore how terrorism has evolved over decades and centuries, coupling that with a detailed examination of how publication administration efforts work to keep peace and properly mediate. Coursework in such a program may include ethics, human resource management, and the study of disaster and crisis organization and communication. The psychology of terrorism, public sector finance and economics, as well as a detailed study of collaboration and coordination amongst multiple government and private-sector agencies would also be included.
