Master’s in Community Leadership

Community Leadership is a broad term with a narrow goal. While community leaders can be elected government officials, appointed government management personnel, leaders of local organizations, non-profits, or for-profit businesses, it’s not uncommon for some of the most progressive community leaders to start out as nothing more than concerned citizens seeking a better way of life for themselves and their families.

A Master of Community Leadership degree is the perfect fit for someone who is well-educated, but seeking a greater opportunity to advance as a leader within the community they reside. Students will leave prepared for leadership opportunities in such settings as social service agencies, economic development associations, non-profit groups, advocacy organizations, religious organizations, community planning, and public education and public health groups, among others. Upon graduation, students will be able to not only open the window greater job opportunities in a number of fields, but they will also be able to help their future employer better coexist as a supportive member of its local community. Students will also have a detailed understanding of the best process and action to take to impact governmental decisions for the betterment of the local society.
